It operates in an open circuit, meaning that the material passes through the mill only once before exiting. This ball mill features a cylindrical drum with steel balls. Like closed circuit ball mills, the material to be ground is fed into the drum through a feeding port, and as the drum rotates, the grinding media crush and grind the material into fine particles. Unlike closed-circuit ball mills, the open-circuit design does not feature an internal separator to separate the coarse and fine particles. Instead, the material is discharged directly from the mill and transported to the product silos.
